In the 1960's and 70's Gore Supply Co. was a vibrant local hardware store owned and operated by my grandfather Morrie Gore in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the south side of Chicago. When my father was still in his twenties, Morrie tragically passed away in a hit and run accident, and with no one to run the store, it was sold.
Fifty years later, pushed by the memory of Morrie's passion for hard work and creative entrepreneurship, I decided to reopen Gore Supply Co. as what I call a wholesale "tchotchke" supplier, providing my community with the same quality of products and fantastic customer service that Morrie did.
